There are (100) squares that can be purchased for $25 each.  The payouts are $250 for the score at the end of each quarter, and end of game.

Contact our president, Terry Gallagher if you're interested in purchasing a Super Bowl Square for the Big Game between San Francisco and Kansas City!

We welcomed our Rotary Club members and their families to join together for food and drinks at "Fire and Ice" Restaurant and Bar owned by our club member, Mike Rogers.  Everyone had a great time socializing and catching up, while enjoying some food and drinks.  Our club looks forward to this fall event each year.  We'd like to thank everyone who came out.
Darrell Dennison and his wife Tammy, along with Bill Scheider and his wife Nikki attended the last Rotary District 7170 meeting and brunch at the Foothills in Oneonta, NY on Sunday, November 5th.  It was a great event to socialize with other club members and catch up on activities, and meet some Youth Exchange Students in our District.  Next year things will change with the merge of three districts to form the new CNY District.

Bill and his wife Nikki were recognized for their Level 2 generous donation to the District Foundation with a focus on Polio Plus.  Bill was asked to speak to the audience, and presented a crystal gift from the District Foundation.
We had another successful Brooks Chicken BBQ fundraising event on Saturday, September 9th, 2023.

We'd like to thank our honorary member Al Benjamin (Colonel Al) for conducting our auction at our meeting this morning.  The auction is a fun event and raises money for our club.  Thank you to all who participated in the auction today.
We had a nice night out at Fire & Ice in Chenango Bridge with our club members, spouses, and friends.  We enjoyed dinner and sharing some stories.  It was nice to meet in a different setting.

We'd like to thank Mike Rogers, the owner of Fire & Ice for his hospitality.
President Darrell Dennison and his wife Tammy went to the District 7170 Meeting at the Northeast Car Museum in Norwich, NY.  District Rocky Martinez organized a great meeting, speaker, and Youth Exchange students, plus a tour of the Car Museum.  It was a great event and a fun day.
Our District Governor Rocky Martinez paid a visit to our club on September 21, 2022.  We enjoyed his visit and discussion on Rotary International as we welcome the first female Rotary International president.  Rocky has some great ideas without thinking too "BIG" as we're looking to maintain our club membership and slowly add new members.  We are looking forward to working with Rocky on district projects and the Youth Exchange program with other clubs throughout the rest of this year.
We had another successful Golf Tournament on July, July 28th at Genegantslet Golf Course.  Our Golf Tournament is very unique as we provide three meals (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner) along with drinks on the golf course, hole-in-one prizes, and additional prizes for selected flights.  We'd like to thank all of our sponsors, members, and friends to taking part in our golf tournament.  Please mark your calendar for next year's tournament on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
I wanted to thank everyone who volunteered and/or stopped in to support our annual Brooks Chicken BBQ yesterday.  Without your willingness to help and support this fundraiser, we would not have been able to have such a successful event!  We sold out 800 chicken dinners by about 2:30 PM.  I anticipate making around $1,600.  Jim Pudish will update us on the final numbers once compiled.

Thank you again for taking time out of your schedules to help make our community a better place!

You are all awesome people!  We are a small club with a big heart!  As always I had a ton of fun and it is always good to socialize outside of our regular meetings, and see the camaraderie between us all.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Best Regards,  Bill Phillips

Joseph Mihalko, County Clerk from Broome County spoke at our club meeting about how the Broome County Clerk's office is handling business during the COVID pandemic.

County Clerk's Office: The Broome County Clerk’s Office oversees the processing, filing, scanning and storing of thousands of vital property, business and court documents every year. We oversee records dating back to 1806 including deeds, mortgages, judgments, liens, maps, civil and criminal actions. Our staff assists thousands of people each year with their filing and searching of these public documents.

Many of these documents are now available online at www.gobcclerk.com. Here you can find land records dating back to 1946 and court documents going back to 1986.

The Department of Motor Vehicles:  The DMV provides original and renewal vehicle registrations, driver’s licenses and learner permits. The DMV is responsible for issuing conditional and restricted license and non-driver identification cards in accordance to New York State Federal Rules and Regulations.

Please visit one of our two local DMV offices at 81 Chenango St, Binghamton or 137 Washington Ave, Endicott or one of our four satellite offices (a schedule of these offices can be found here). When you visit our local DMV offices in person, Broome County retains 12.7% of your transaction revenue; when you mail it to Albany, the State government keeps all of the fees.

Records Management: The Records Management division is responsible for storing and maintaining County Records as well as overseeing the proper retention and destruction based on New York State Guidelines.

The Binghamton Breakfast Rotary Club members, lead by Bill Scheider, prepared Christmas Cards with pictures of Holiday decorations from around the Binghamton Area, were delivered to residents at United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus.  We hope to bring some joy to the residents who haven't been able to see their families, or travel outside due to the pandemic.
Our Annual Brooks Chicken BBQ Dinner fundraiser will take place this year on Saturday, September 5th, 2020 beginning at 10:30am next to Lowes on Upper Front Street.  (The actual address is 1326 Upper Front Street, Binghamton, NY  13901)

We had our "Pass the Gavel" ceremony on July 22, 2020 at the Binghamton Club.  It was our first meeting since the COVID-19 Pandemic started in March, 2020.  We were happy to welcome our new President - Jack Fitzgerald.  Our Past President Anthony Saccento passed the gavel to Jack Fitzgerald to start the new Rotary Year 2020-2021.
We had our annual Parade Day Pancake Breakfast at St. Patrick's Church in Binghamton, NY.  We had nice weather and a great turnout for the breakfast - we had almost 200 people come through the door for our Pancake Breakfast, which included sausages, toast, scrambled eggs, coffee, orange juice, and tea for $6.  It was a great success as we supported local organizations from ACHIEVE and Catholic Charities.
We had our "Pass the Gavel" ceremony on July 10th, 2019 as Dana Thurston stepped down as President of the Binghamton Breakfast Rotary Club and we installed Anthony Saccento as our new President for 2019-2020.
The Binghamton Breakfast Rotary Club Scholarship Committee chose (3) $1,000 Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to: Leah Liriano from Seton High School, and Magdalen Lynch and Tabarek Sulaiman from Binghamton High School

The Binghamton Breakfast Club has been making a donation on behalf of our speakers for our programs each week.  We make a donation to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and ask to earmark our donation to the Binghamton Backpack Program at Binghamton High School.  We just made our latest donation in April, 2019.

The group volunteered their time to create a structure from canned food goods at the Oakdale Mall with the theme "when fighting hunger, the sky is the limit"  Look at our photo library for pictures of the "Empire State Building" built from canned goods.

All canned food is donated to local food pantries around the Broome County area.
We welcomed our newest club member (Stephanie Bostic) to our club with a formal induction ceremony.  Stephanie is a former Youth Exchange Student and Rotary Scholarship recipient.  Stephanie's sponsor was Teri Chamberlin from A.V.R.E.
We had our annual "Parade Day" Pancake Breakfast at a new location [St. Patrick's Church in Binghamton] this year, and it was a great success!

The Binghamton Breakfast Rotary Club has been serving up a Pancake Breakfast on the same day as Binghamton's St. Patrick's Day Parade.  This year the Pancake Breakfast was on Saturday, March 2, 2019.

Our breakfast is much more than pancakes.  We serve pancakes, toast, sausages, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, tea in a very friendly and social environment.  We have great participation from our club members for this event, including breakfast ticket donations to support some non-profit organizations to a free breakfast.  We even provide live music from the Java Joe Jammer's Band who donate their time to provide some entertainment.
Members of our club collected items and cash to purchase items for a care package sent to our club member Darlene Croston and Troops stationed in Afghanistan.  Thank you to everyone in our club who donated items, and to Bill Phillips for purchasing items with money donated, and thank you to Jim Pudish for mailing the care package.  This will be a special treat for Darlene and the Troops during the holiday season.

The Binghamton Breakfast Rotary Club made a $500 donation to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.  This will support the Binghamton High School BackPack Program to make a difference in the life of a child struggling with hunger.

In the Southern Tier, fifty percent of school-aged children qualify for free or reduced price lunch during the school year.  That equates to over 40,000 kids who are at risk of being hungry.

When school is not in session over weekends and holiday breaks, many of those children do not have access to enough nutritious food so adequately support their physical and cognitive development.
Our annual Pancake Breakfast at American Legion Post 80 on Main Street in Binghamton, NY was a success in spite of the Big Snow Storm the day before.

The Pancake Breakfast included All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausages, Toast, Coffee, Tea, and Orange Juice for $6

We schedule our Breakfast on "Parade Day" in Binghamton to celebrate St. Patrick's Day (early) at the end location of the Parade.

As a celebration, the entire club participated in a sing-a-long with Jim Ford, including a song written by Jim Ford "Binghamton, NY"

Darlene had a wonderful weekend visit with Cara and her parents.  They visited the Cathedral in Cologne, and are pictured enjoying a beer and some hearty potato soup at a well known brewery.

They spent time shopping in Dusseldorf, and sightseeing.  Cara is doing well in her studies, and just finished an 18 page term paper in English.  It counts for half her grade in English, and after proofreading it, I can assure the club it is college level work.
On behalf of Rotary District 5890 Charities, Inc., a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization, we receive a thank you for our generous contribution of $387.50, dated September 20, 2017, for Hurricane Harvey disaster relief efforts.

Breadfruit, a starchy fruit long a staple in the tropics, is attracting new interest globally as farmers and scientists search for crops that are hardier while still nutrient dense.
